Foods to Avoid During an Elimination Diet:
  • wheat & gluten containing foods
  • soy
  • all dairy
  • corn
  • citrus
  • the nightshade family of vegetables (onions, tomatoes, eggplant)
  • pork
  • eggs
  • * and anything else you can think of that may be causing your issues

That basically leaves the following foods on the menu:

---- turkey, fish, rice, lamb, green vegetables and certain fruits like blueberries and apples

Note: The more strict you are the more effective the results will be.

Re-introducing foods back into your diet:

After three weeks of strict elimination a person can begin re-introducing foods back into their diet one food at a time for 1-2 days while paying attention to any reactions. For example, after three weeks of eliminating foods a person may decide to bring corn back into their diet and then observe what happens for the next 1 -2 days.

Pay attention for any of the following reactions:

headaches, sinus issues, fatigue, nausea, skin issues, brain fog, irritatbility, joint pain, gas, palpitations, diarrhea, bloating, food cravings, or excess mucous

If a negative reaction occurs make a note to avoid that food for a minimum of six months before trying it again. After six months you may find that your body has healed itself from the reasons it developed a sensitivity to that food, and you are no longer reactive to it.
