What I am about to say may come as a shock, but I assure you it is true. It's actually a very profound secret, and If enough people knew about this well-guarded secret it would devastate the multi-billion dollar Health & Fitness industry as we know it. Furthermore, it would force the people in charge to incorporate more legitimate motives in their practices. The secret, I'm sure you are wondering about, is as follows:
Genuine weight loss can only be reached by creating GENUINE HEALTH.
It will NOT be found by counting calories, calculating your base metabolic rate (BMR), gobbling down random bottles of vitamins and other supplements, or by following some generalized diet or meal plan system.
Unfortunately our general perspective on weight loss is skewed;
Most people believe they need to lose weight in order to get healthy. However it's really the other way around - you must get healthy first in order to lose weight.
Of course I am referring to true weight loss, not the glamorized crap being packaged and sold to us in countless, advertisements, infomercials and popular tv shows.

That said, I have come to believe that the most critical factor for attaining true health is to follow a nutritional program that is tailored for your genetic biochemical makeup. Due to the fact that all of our nutritional needs are unique, a diet that produces beneficial results for someone may have no effect on a 2nd person, and may create negative repercussions for a 3rd person. This explains why popular diets of the past have shown success with some people and not others. To understand why let us take a look at the following example.

Eskimos are an extreme example of a culture that developed a genetic-based need for a high-protein, high-fat diet in order to be healthy and survive in their environment. In fact, most people do not realize that when the Eskimos ate a diet indigenous to their culture they experienced nothing but robust health, and their incidence of heart disease was virtually non existent.
That said, it is important to note that when they deviated from their standard way of eating they opened the door to many adverse health problems, including a significant increase in heart disease.
In stark contrast, the typical diet of an East Indian contains a relatively small amount of fat and protein, and a high amount of carbohydrates. Although this diet is completely different from that of the Eskimo - it provides beneficial results for the Indian culture.
Conclusion: Both diets are beneficial for their genetic needs. However, switching diets between the two cultures would lead to catastrophic health consequences on either side.

What is Metabolic Typing?
Metabolic Typing is a science-based program which recognizes the fact that we all breakdown and utilize food for energy in very different and unique ways due to a host of genetic factors. Fortunately our bodies provide many clues as to how our genetics influence our metabolic systems. These clues not only include dietary characteristic, but emotional, psychological, and physical traits as well. By analyzing these clues through a lengthy questionnaire we can accurately determine which body systems are strong and which are weak.
Once a person's metabolic type is determined we can prescribe the correct food as medicine to push toward balance. That said, it is vital that a person's diet be tailored to that individual's needs because what works for one person may have no benefit on a second person, and can make a third person ill.
